Who Can Be a Sustaining Member of PTAP?
Any individual, organization, corporation or business interested in pupil transportation and the activities of the association may be a sustaining
member. As a sustaining member your annual dues entitle you to a business card advertisement in the PTAP newsletter, which is circulated
statewide to all PTAP members.
What PTAP Does For Its Members
Communications - PTAP members receive a quarterly newsletter containing valuable information pertaining to your profession. From PennDOT
regulation updates, to current events, to tips from colleagues, to features about your peers and insight into government, PTAP's newsletter is a
valuable source of information for the pupil transportation professional.
A Voice in the Legislature - PTAP is a unified voice aimed directly at the legislators in Harrisburg who make the laws you must abide by.
Through legislative monitoring and active lobbying with other school-related groups, PTAP speaks for you on Capitol Hill!
Conferences and Seminars - PTAP holds its Annual Conference each summer. The conference provides participants with educational sessions,
hands-on workshops and an extensive trade show. In the summer, PTAP also co-sponsors the annual State Safety Competition in which drivers from
across the state compete in both skills and a written exam.
PTAP sponsors seminars throughout the year on various topics found to be of interest to its members. Topics for directors, managers and mechanics
regularly find their way into PTAP seminars. Members get reduced rates for all PTAP Conferences and Seminars.
Promotion of School Bus Safety - PTAP sponsors an annual student essay contest, focusing on the theme of the annual School Bus Safety Week
and Poster Contest, which is also co-sponsored by PTAP on the statewide level.
